About Amur

Amur is the Anaerobic Digestion division of AB Agri, an Associated British Foods business. The Amur business is focused on renewable energy, getting more from less, and encouraging AD Operators to reduce their dependency on crop fed- AD’s, looking instead at alternatives from the food and drink industry- removing a waste problem which currently goes to landfill.

History of Amur

2012 – We started to realise the impact that anaerobic digestion was having on the feed industry, so decided to look into it in more depth. We wanted to fully understand it and lead the industry, improving it for the better. After extensive research by our industry experts, we decided to build our own AD plant.
2013 – We found land, negotiated contracts and spent two years making sure we were prepared to do it properly.
2015 – We started the build.
2016 – In March we got our first ‘burp’ locking in the tariff confirming it worked.
In July at the ADBA exhibition, we officially launched as Amur.
October then saw the plant build complete.
2018 – We opened our lab at York university and began conducting our Bullet BMP analysis.
